Australian Fiancée Visa for Thai

Thai Fiancées of Australian Nationals can now apply for an Australian Fiancée visa to travel to Australia and get married to their Australian Fiancée. The Thai wife can then extend her stay in Australia, by adjusting her immigration status into a temporary spouse, after getting married within the validity period. This would allow the Thai wife to an indefinite stay in Australia.

Australian Fiancée Visa Requirements:

As a Thai national, one needs to have the following documents in order to obtain an Australian Fiancée Visa:

  • ·         Must be single or has a Free to Marry Certificate
  • ·         Must have no criminal records and should secure a Police Clearance issued in Bangkok
  • ·         Must be in good health and able to secure a Health Certificate
  • ·         Must show proof of legit relationship with the Sponsor

As an Australian Sponsor, one needs to meet the following requirements for the Australian Fiancée Visa:

  • ·         Must be an Australian national or an Australian permanent resident holder
  • ·         Must be able to show proof of accommodation in Australia
  • ·         Must be able to show proof of financial stability (employment)
  • ·         Must show proof of legit relationship with the Thai Fiancée
  • ·         Must be single

Australian Fiancée Visa Process:

This process may take 8-12 months to finish, so you need to make sure that you have all the paperwork needed. Lacking any document would mean longer processing time. The visa process is as follows:

  • –          Both the Australian sponsor and the Thai Fiancée should gather all the required documents
  • –          The Thai Fiancée should have a medical certificate
  • –          The Thai Fiancée should have a Police Clearance
  • –          All required documents should be forwarded to the Australian Embassy
  • –          The Thai Fiancée should await for further evaluation until visa decision is given

The Australian Embassy will inform the applicant if there are any missing documents. If not, then the waiting time would take about 12 months the most for the whole process.
